Etz Wylius

Etz Wylius is a member of The Faceless Clan, who eventually murders everyone within the Clan.

Appearance

• Approximately seven feet tall
• All skin is covered in clothing
  • Unusually large trench coat with sleeves that reach beyond his hands
  • Cloth shoulder/neck cover
  • Head completely wrapped
  • Wears a mask (requirement of The Faceless Clan)
  • Steel toed work boots
  • Brown leather gloves

Because of all of his skin being covered, it is unknown what ethnicity he is. He is also mute, but reveals that he can speak when he meets Oskar Eisenengel late in the story (after murdering The Faceless Clan's members). When he applies for membership in the Faceless Clan, he reveals his ability to manipulate magnetic objects (explained later in this page) so he will be seriously considered. He then answers questions by writing, when being interviewed by Luna.

The "Magnetic Manipulator"

Etz has very significant combat and defense capabilities due to a machine he wears on his back that creates a controlled electromagnetic field around him. This allows him to move anything made of magnetic metal, which is useful for, for instance, stopping sword thrusts, driving jacketed bullets away from himself, and using firearms without having to touch them.

This machine also allows him to see his surroundings without using his eyes, with a method similar to that of the MRI, viewing water particles magnetically.
